Obituary of Joan E. Tarcinale

Joan (Vegnone) Tarcinale, 92, of Mechanicsville, died Monday July 11, 2005, at the Westview Nursing Center in Dayville. She was the wife of the late Michael Tarcinale, he died in 1985. She was born July 16, 1913 in Dudley, MA, daughter of the late Joseph and Nancy (Dellripa) Vegnone. She lived in Webster, attended schools and worked there. She came to Mechanicsville as a young bride in 1937 and made it her home for 68 years. She is survived by one son, Dr. Michael A. Tarcinale and his wife Laurel Ann of Penfield, NY; a grandson A.J. Tarcinale, a great grandson Silas of Florida, a sister Helen Jarzabski of Shrewsbury, MA, a brother Frank Vegnone and his wife Dorothy of Webster, MA, eight nephews and five nieces, great nephews and nieces, and great great nephews and nieces. She also leaves good friends who cared very much for her. She was predeceased by four sisters and two brothers. She worked at the Putnam Finishing Company in Mechanicsville for ten years and the Bates Shoe in Grosvenordale for twenty years. Joan was a communicant of Sacred Heart Church in West Thompson since 1937. She was a charter member and past president of Putnam Emblem Club #209, a member of the Putnam VFW Ladies Auxiliary, the West Thompson Firemens Auxiliary, and of the Seniors of Thompson. She also belonged to the Coffee League Bowling at the Mohegan Bowling where she bowled once a week. She loved dancing and Bingo and always tried to keep active. The Funeral will be Thursday at 9:15 AM from the Smith & Walker Funeral Home 148 Grove Street, Putnam, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM in Sacred Heart Church, West Thompson Road, West Thompson. Calling Hours will be Wednesday from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the funeral home. Burial in West Thompson Cemetery, West Thompson, followed by a luncheon buffet. Donations may be made in her memory to the J.T. Memorial Fund at Sacred Heart Church, c/o of ST Joseph Church P.O.
