I went to Elms College with Carrie. Was her roommate for sometime. Her sense of humor and great smile was always present. Lost touch through the years, but she did manage to catch up with me a couple years back. She spoke of her trials of life. And the love of her life - her son Joey. She was so proud of her young man. Her emails were filled with pride and joy for him.
What a great shock to know she is gone...

Carrie... what to say, I never for a moment thought this time would come that we would be without your beautiful smile and comforting optimism. I am so blessed to have known you. Throughout your to short life you were an inspiraton to me, many times I told you, "Carrie you are a better woman than I", you would just laugh and say it wasn't true..it really is true but through your example I try to be a better woman each day. Although we were not ready to say goodbye and let you go, I know you are at peace and in the beautiful place you belong.

My Dearest Carrie,
There are not enough words to express or describe how you touched my life and provided so much inspiration. You truly are an Angel and a Gift of God! You were a wonderful mentor and a very special friend. I have so many special memories of my years of working alongside you....our bathroom of an office, our morning chats, those awful Harry Potter jelly beans, both coming in with coffee for the other, driving in a car with you and your no sense of direction, Tony on your lap as you drive, your head bands, your obsession with pens and highlighters.....I could go on and on. I love you Carrie and you will be in my heart forever, I have been truly blessed to have known you!! I know that your soul and inspiration will shine through Joey!

The evening of the day of the beautiful beginning of your new life, I sat and looked up at the sky, thinking of you. I saw the most beautiful cloud I had ever seen. I did not have the pleasure of knowing Carolyn that well but know first hand what a wonderful person heaven has recieved. Five and a half years ago I gave birth to my son at 24 weeks. He was very sick and we were told not to go far for fear that he would expire while we were not there. My husband and I slept out in the bed of a truck in the middle of December as we could not afford a hotel. Carolyn knowing my family from Haven Health Center paid for a hotel room for a night so we could take a hot shower and sleep in a warm bed. I will never forget her kind gesture and how much it ment to us. God Bless you Carolyn and watch over your family during this difficult time. I will be praying for them. You will never be forgotten.
Prayers and love to all

Dear Joe - I cannot begin to imagine how lost you must feel. So many things are running through my mind and I feel so helpless and inadequate that I cannot find the words and actions to help you through this. Your relationship with your mother was such a treasure and I was in awe to see how the 2 of you cared for each other in a time where teenage turmouil usually reigns. Everything your mom did, she did out of love for you. Remember all those love and life lessons she taught you as they will serve you well. I hope and pray you will stay strong through this and come out the other side as the honorable, respectful, decent man your mother has raised you to be. She will always be there to guide you in spirit, and the rest of your St Mary's family will be there too.

These thoughts and memories are especially sent to Joey and Carrie's family. I met Carrie about 10 years ago when I accepted a position as Assisant Director of Nurses at Westcott Care Center. Her spirit always lifted me when I was down. Her smile was so contagious. Such a happy person who always thought of others before herself. And those HUGS, GROUP HUGS!!!Her specialty!! I left the Putnam area about 6 years ago and moved to Florida. During this time Carrie has continued to always keep in touch. If it wasn't a note talking of her progress it was a poem or an animated card, anything to bring a chuckle. such a delightful lady! Joey your mom was just one of the most special people I will ever meet. She loved life, her residents at work and most of all you. Always remember you were the love of her life. She will continue to watch over you, only now it will be from above. Her strength, her determination to fight, and her persistence to overcome all the adversities during the most recent years shoudl be an example to us all. Oh how I admire her. An angel who loved, shared herself with others and was a true example of humility. Joey I know your mom loved The Lord so much and I know your spriritual walk was most important to her.Always remember what she has taught you. You will all be in my thoughts and prayers during the days ahead. My prayer is that the Lord will bless you with understanding- why has she been taken away from us? Wisdom - to continue to look to the Lord for strength and direction and peace- as only she would want for all of us. To my great Friend, Carrie, I am so glad the Lord blessed us with friendship. I will miss you.I send you a big hug. Lea

Carrie was such a wonderful person that it is hard to know where to begin. We met only a few short years ago, through her friends and extended family, Manon and David Meunier. Carrie invited us into her life like she had known us forever. She had such a big heart and lovable personality. Carrie was always there with a smile on her face. She always made it known about the love for her son, Joey. He was the biggest priority in her life. I wish she had more time on Earth to share with the people whom she loved and those who loved her, but I know she is in Heaven looking down upon us. Joey, your mother is in a special place. I will never forget a particular kindness that Carrie bestowed upon me about eight years ago. I had just started working at Haven Health and I did not really know anybody and I needed an overnight babysitter for my infant son. Carrie offered to take him overnight and care for him all day the next day. I had my reservations about leaving him with someone I barely knew, but I was greatly reassured by many co-workers about Carrie's love for children, especially babies. When I picked him up after the sleepover, I remember the smile on her face as she described how much fun she had with him. She often reminded me how she loved the way he looked like an accordion when he laughed. I have always appreciated this kind gesture and her love for all children. So long Carrie, you are an angel among angels.

Dear John,
Sorry to hear of your loss.
although death seems to be such a final thing, all the wonderful things Carrie did for others to cheer them and assist them on their path of life still live on long after the mortal body has been interred.
And Love? Well Love is pretty indestructible. Once you have loved someonne, you always have contact with them, no matter what plane they are existing upon, and there are many planes of existence.
So you always have contact with all your birth family members. Just think of them and hold them in your heart.
Bless you!
