To Claire and family,
Please accept my heartfelt sympathy with the loss of George.
Although I have only known George through the dental office where I work, some people leave a lasting impression and are among our favorites.
George was one of those
special people who bring a smile to your face. I feel
blessed to have had him pass my way. I will miss his good nature and smile.
Sincerely,
Deb Gignac, Hygienist</b></font><br><br>

To George's family: In the last eight years I have have gotten to know many of you well and formed close relationships. The last few days have been so difficult for all of you. It is a true loss in every way. While George's passing has proven to us that life is fleeting and uncertain, his love for all of you was steadfast and strong. He had a great love for life and family. We can all take this legacy and keep it in our hearts always. He was a fine man and was so good to us all. His legacy for living well will live on with you. Much love, Mark (son in law #3)</b></font><br><br>

I was saddened to hear about George's passing. When we were younger, my sisters and I and all the neighborhood kids used to ride our bikes around the block several times a day, and no matter how many times we passed George sitting on his porch, he always smiled and waved. I'll always remember him sitting there on that porch, making sure all was right on Mill St. I'm sure he is doing the same thing right now, only from heaven's "porch."</b></font><br><br>

Harry Lew posted a condolence
I'm so sorry to hear of George's passing. I'm the grandson of Ida Blixt, George's aunt. That makes me George's second cousin on his mother's side. Until just several years ago, I never really knew any of my relatives on my father's side. My father was the son of Ida Blixt and Yen Lew. He and his brother, Hilton, were orphaned at a very early age and went to live with Lafayette and Inga Karolina Main in North Stonington. But my father and uncle eventually ended up in an orphanage in New Britain. As young men, I believe they visited George at the Main homestead. But ovef the years, they lost touch with each other Fast forward about 60 years to the year 2000. The phone rang and I heard a voice ask if this was Harry Lew. I said, "yes." Then he asked if I was the brother of Hilton. And I explained that I was Harry's son and that both my father and uncle had passed on. Then George explained that he was my second cousin, son of my grandmother's sister. I was blown away! I had always assumed that I had no living relatives on my father side of the family. But using the Internet, George tracked me down and disproved my long-held assumption.
Although I only knew George for a few short years, I will always remember his excitement over having "discovered" me. I'll always cherish the several visits we had, in Putnam and in Southington, where we learned a little more about each other and got to meet our respective families. I am terribly saddened that I won't have the chance to get to know George better. But I will always be grateful that he found me and connected me with the family I had, but never knew about.
My condolences to all of you, from the Lew Family: Harry, Lucile, and Sarah Rosalinda</b></font><br><br>
