Dearest Family,
Please except my condolences and Deepest sympathy for your loss. In the short time I’ve known Darlene I’ve grown to love her and have a high respect for her! I bought Afghans from her that are absolutely beautiful. I have a special purple one she made me that I keep on my computer chair. When I see my afghan, In my heart I see her smile! I can also see a little frustration due to the fact that I would not let her add any color but purple to it. She wanted to add some white. I am glad to have such a special reminder of her to carry with me until the time we meet again. If for any reason some one was cold in heaven, they won’t be anymore. I just hope she saves me one.
You are all in my prayers!
GOD BLESS,
Mary Ann Gilbert

To Darlene's Family: I was so sorry to read of Darlene's death. I first knew Darlene as a student who went to school with my children, Dawn, Craig, and Jill. Later I had her as a student at Dudley Hall. She was in some of my classes and I remember her as a hard-working student who always had things done right and on time. I was pleased and proud to read that she had a successful career...I know that being a successful wife and mother were always important to her too. Please accept my sincere sympathy. May God grant you comfort and peace.

I had the privilege to become acquainted with Darlene at the Relay For Life in Woodstock. She brought along many of her beautiful hand crocheted afghans to sell for the "Beacon of Hope" team. Her kind, caring personality and her very positive attitude touched my family deeply.
You have my sincere sympathy.

Darlene was more than a friend--she was family in many ways. When we found out we really were family it only made our bond stronger. She was always there for anyone who needed her.
I only hope that I can be as strong and give as much of myself that Darlene did.
Darl-I love you.
Brian Chris and Brian Jr. I love too.

Through her sons, I found Mrs. Warren to be a caring person. She worked on our can food drives at St. Mary's. When she and I had surgery at the same time, she gave me one of the a calendars that she had made for the Circle of Fun. My deepest sympathies go out to the family, especially Chris and Brian. May God be with all of you.
