Obituary of Rosemarie Sharples

Rosemarie Rosie Sharples, 71, of Sunset Hill Road, Thompson, died Wednesday at the Hubbard Regional Hospital in Webster, MA. She was the wife of 51 years of Thurman Skip Sharples. She was born in Tangermunde, Germany on June 4, 1934, daughter of the late Otto and Magdalene (Krug) Hoschle. She worked for many years at the Hubbard Regional Hospital as a Nurses Aide. Rosie was the Royal Matron of Harmony Court #12, Order of Amaranth of Brooklyn, CT, a member of the Betty Putnam Chapter #106,Order of Eastern Star of Woodstock, CT and had held the office of Ruth with the OES, and a member of the Social Order of the Beauceant of Pawtucket, RI. Rosie was a member of the East Woodstock Congregational Church. Her hobbies included knitting and crocheting. She was well known throughout the country with the York Rite of masonry for her carrot cake. She will always be remembered for her great sense of humor. She leaves in addition to her husband, her children: Anne Kellner and her husband Stephan of Thompson; Thurman P Sharples, III and his wife Alicia of Ballwin, MO; Linda Sharples of Danielson; Heidi Rhault of Danielson; Kenneth Sharples and his wife Diana of Thompson; and her dog Fritz, her grandchildren: Richard Kellner; Robert Kellner; Kricket Berube; Justin Berube; Rachel Sharples; Stephanie Rhault; Thurman P. Sharples, IV; Sarah Sharples; Jason, Beth and Jared Landry; her great-granddaughter: Destiny Watkins, and cousins in Germany. She was predeceased by a granddaughter Amanda Berube. The Funeral Service will be Saturday a 10:00 am at the East Woodstock Congregational Church, 220 Woodstock Rd, East Woodstock, CT. Calling hours will be Friday from 5:00 to 8:00 pm at the Smith & Walker Funeral Home, 148 Grove Street, Putnam. Burial will be in the spring in Riverside Cemetery, Newmarket, NH.
