Virginia, the week I was able to share with you and your family in February was such a gift to me. Living on different sides of the country we didn't get to see each other often, but that week made up for a lot of missed times. Your family is a wonderful legacy. I look forward to seeing you again. Although I was only able to visit my Aunt Virginia in Connecticut a few times, it was always interesting to hear her and her siblings reminisce about their days growing up on a Kansas farm. Also, I enjoyed the large, loving family that was always around. I will forever think fondly on my time spent in her company. My thoughts and prayers are with you. Love, Steven, Lawrence KS

How gentle on the mind is the memory of this good woman. Her sweet disposition made many days of working at DKH go better. It is too soon of course to say good bye but such a comfort that her large family surrounded her as she moved on to her eternal life. She spent many hours with others as they made the same journey. She will have quite a reception over there. Please save us a place, Ginny

Although I did not get to see Aunt Viriginia much, I cherish the time I was able to spend with her and her family. The one time my husband and I were able to visit you and your family were so welcoming. I will cherish the quilt you made for my son forever. You and your family have been in my thoughts and prayers and will continue to be.
Love,
Kathy, Matt and Milo Reeves

Virginia, you weren't rich or famous, but your legacy is greater than that of the rich and famous. You left a wonderful, loving family. I will always cherish the times I've spent with them over the years. We had a wonderful visit three weeks ago, didn't we. And I'm glad you ate that whole piece of coconut cream pie. Wasn't it delicious? Sending all my love from Kansas to all of your wonderful family. Love from your sister Esther

Jane Burlingame posted a condolence
I first met Ginny nearly 20 years ago when I started working at the hospital but she was West1 evenings and I was East1 days. We didn't talk much. I really got to know her years later when she came to oncology as a patient. It is an unsettling thing to have a co-worker as a patient but Ginny made it easy. She was funny and practical, busy and wise, unselfish and patient. I enjoyed her amusing take on hospital history and the changes she had seen evolve. I especially enjoyed and admired her sense of family. I loved that reunions would take place all over the country and everyone would come. It was obvious how much she loved her family and easy to love her. I feel knowing her was a blessing.

I first met Ginny while working in the DKH Oncology Department. I will always remember her matter of factness and her caring smile. She was the most patient of patients on our busy days and never complained when her treatments took longer than they had to, my sympathies go out to all of you, we have all lost someone very special.
