Faith Ann and Matt,
With a heavy heart, I want to take this opportunity to express to you just how important that knowing your father and being his friend ment to me. I will truly miss him. Everyone who knew him, at some point in time, was touched by his generosity and his "giving" nature. His most "giving" attribute was just his presence alone. This was an accurate depection of the way that he lived his life. I especially want you to know one of the key things that I admired and will always remember is the true meaning of the loyalty that he demonstrated to those he considered his friends. This was a quality that both of you will be proud of forever. I saw it, probably more that most people because of the time we spent together.
In those times together he opened up and did a lot of talking. He expressed a lot of his inner thoughts and subjects to me that many other people probably never heard. He was always very open with me and seemed to relish our talks and time together. We were truly special friends.
There are a lot of words that can be used to describe him. The true importantance of all the the words and thoughts are all positive from all whose lives he touched. Our "C" dock gang especially.
You can always be assured that the both of you were always in his thoughts. I know more about the both of you than you can imagine as a day didn't go by that you weren't talked about. It is my privilege to know you both and always be remembered as one of your dad's best friends.
You both are in my prayers and if you are ever in need of anything, I hope that I will be the first one you think of.

To Faith Ann, Matt, and Marilyn--
I'm recalling the many, many hours we all spent together at your home in Forest Park (can't recall the street name; too many years have passed since then)while we were involved
up to our eyeballs in helping make each annual Springtime Festival an unprecedented success!
Lee was always the eternal optimist among us. Glitches in the Festival's schedule, the sudden unavailability of someone we were counting on to lend a much-needed hand, or, God forbid, the threat of rain for Parade Day--Lee just took these in stride, keeping the rest of us sane by telling some of his famous tales!
Although I haven't lived in Danielson for many years now, I remember Lee as a friend to me, my family, and, most of all, to the town itself. Keenly interested in its schools, churches, businesses, and civic organizations, Lee contributed his personal talents to help the town flourish. He will be missed--both in town and by his friends far away.
As his family, you are fortunate to have known Lee in his best years. I send you my most sincere condolences and wishes, too, for the fond memories you have to carry you through this loss.
Fondly,
CRC

Faith Ann and Matt, It is not everyday people meet a man like your father. He was a man who treated everyone with dignity and respect. The emptiness we feel by his absence today will in time be filled with memories of his genuine thoughtfulness, kindness and concern for others. You both should know that you put the sparkle in his eyes. He spoke about you both with great pride.
Your father will always be missed and will stay in our hearts forever. It was our privilege to have known him.
Our only regret is never having the opportunity to show him our appreciation for all he did, but more importantly, for just being the man he was. Please know that you are in our prayers and we are here for you, just as your father would have been for any of us. Rick, Sue, Stephanie & Jessica.

As a Canadian customer to Delta Rubber, Lee was the sales manager responsible to provide us with technical knowledge and deal with our complaints. The good times were spent at several quaint restaurants in the area of Stratford, Ontario. He was a true gentleman who enjoyed good wine and roast lamb. Right down my alley!!
He will be sorely missed.

Pleas except our deepest condolences for your recent loos. Your Dad was a wonderful individual, friend, community activist and Father. I have to say that I don't believe I ever seen your Dad without a smile on his face and his welcoming presents when you would see him around town or in a store. My thoughts and prayers are with all of you, for the loss of a man, I truly admired, but whose family I never had the pleasure to meet. My memories with Lee go back 30 years. In 1976, as a junior at KHS, I met him as a contestant of the Springtime Festival Queen's Pageant. Lee was always such a kind, gentle and generous man. As a young teen he inspired me, made me feel special, confident, worthy somehow. He lifted me up, higher than I thought I could ever achieve. He made me feel special and deserving of great things. Our friendship remained through many years until I moved away. Returning to Danielson, a few years ago, I always hoped that our paths would someday cross; much to my sorrow, I never had the chance to tell Lee how his kindness influenced my life in such a positive and lastingly meaningful way. Often in life we are presented with the chance to say thank you, to those who have touched our lives, and helped to shape or change our course and direction. I regret not having the chance to thank Lee personally, but I'm sure he now somehow knows, how greatful I am for his influence and how it helped to mold who I became in this life. My deepest sympathy to his family and friends. A true Angel has returned to heaven.

Dear Matt and Faith Ann,

You would make any parent proud in the way you have conducted yourself in all situations and especially in this most difficult time. We feel privilege to have known you and your family. The summers I spent in CT with the Burris family are some of my best childhood memories. Thanksgiving couldn't be celebrated without the Lee pestering Pops and Aunt Ruth Ann in Honey's kitchen. Then there are thoughts of the country, fireworks, ball games, snipe hunting, and a couple guys in lawn chairs, cracking each other up, just being Dads... We are saddened by the news, know you are in our thoughts and prayers.

Dear Faith Ann and Matt: Our sorrow and deepest sympathy with the news of your Fathers unexpected passing. The memories and friendship we shared with Lee will never be forgoten. His sense of humor and unflinching generosity to all who came in his path is unmatched by any man I ever new. Lee was always the first to say "can I help?" ,"what can I do?" "I'll be there!" "by the way, did you here the one about the......". Every Friday when he arrived at the dock after having driven thousands of miles around the country for his work, it would be like Christmas. He would bring "treasures from the road" for everyone and could't wait to unpack and hand them out. Could be the latest pepper jelly from Pittsburg, the best pretzels, finest Dutch Ham or the greatest new gaggit no one could live without. He loved doing it and tyhe pleasure it gave him was written all over his face. Lee will be missed by all he touched.

Our most heartfelt sympathy to you, Matt and Faith Ann, on the loss of your beloved Dad. He was a very special person and an extremely proud Dad of both of you. He was a part of our family for 39 years and we have special memories of him and the many beautiful flowers he sent. We, too, know what a loss you endure when you lose your Dad. You are fortunate to have enjoyed your life with him for many years and we know that he cannot be replaced.
Remember all the good and special times you shared, his laugh and smile and know that he gave you both a love that is beyond description that will be with you and keep you strong for the rest of your lives.
We know that no words can help you with what you are going through, but please know how much you are being thought about and how deeply you are wished the comfort of wonderful memories, and that those memories will sustain you through this period of sorrow. There is so little we can say to help you through tomorrow and the days following, but we want you to know that your Dad is warmly remembered and you will get through this because you are surrounded by people who care....people like us.
Even though the three of us are not there in person to comfort you, we are with you in thought and prayer.
Our deepest and most heartfelt sympathy,
Grandma Burris

Dear Faith Ann and Matt:
The memory of your Dad and our friendship will be something that I shall cherish forever.
To me, Lee was not thought of as just a business associate but as a close personal friend as well. In the two and one half years since my retirement from Timken, once a month during his visits to Canton, he would always invite me to dinner with him so we could chat about old times and what was currently happening in our lives. We'd tell each other the latest jokes, bash the University of Michigan (even though he went to their games, he was still a Buckeye!).
Most of all, he was SO PROUD of the two of you and his beautiful grandaughter, Amy. When I would ask Lee about how you were doing he would light up as he told me about your latest accomplishments.
I could go on much longer but I would close by simply saying that I will truly miss his presence.
May God Bless Lee and take him into his loving arms for all eternity. I will continue to remember him in my prayers.
With love and sympathy from me and my wife Elaine.
