Obituary of Fernande P. Auger

Fernande "Fern" P. Auger 85 of Christopher Heights, Webster, formerly of Putnam and Dayville, died unexpectedly Saturday evening at ST Vincent Hospital in Worcester. She was born December 18, 1921 in Ronan, Montana, daughter of the late Felix H. and Antoinette (Roberge) Paul. She had made her home in the Putnam area since 1940, moving to Dayville in 1997. She worked for over twenty years as a seamstress at Church's Clothing, retiring in 1984; she also worked at Belding Hemmingway in Putnam. In the 1980's she worked as a seamstress at Old Sturbridge Village, making period clothing. She enjoyed dancing, walking, cooking, baking and most of all cherished her friendships she made over the years. She was a communicant of ST Mary Church of the Visitation and a member of the Daughters of Isabella. She leaves her children: Normand A. Auger, Jr of Putnam; Robert L. Auger of Grosvenordale; Paulette Jensen of Danielson; her siblings: Arthur Paul of Auburn, WA; Sr. Colette Paul of Putnam; Georgette Duval of N. Oxford, MA; Sr. Anita Paul of Putnam; Lauraine Paul of Brooklyn; her grandchildren: Bryan Toutant; Brandon Auger; Ryan Auger; Ashley Auger; great grandchildren: Matthew Auger; Ryan Auger; Sara Auger; Charlie Toutant; Chase Toutant; her former husband, Normand A. Auger, Sr. of Webster. She was predeceased by a grandson, Jeffrey Toutant; two sisters, Jeanne Sellers; Olivette Kozey. A Memorial Mass will be Friday at 10:00 AM in ST Mary Church of the Visitation, 218 Providence Street, Putnam followed by burial in ST Joseph Cemetery, North Grosvenordale. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in her memory to ST Mary Church, Putnam or ST Joseph Church, 12 Main Street, N. Grosvenordale, CT 06255. Arrangements by Smith & Walker Funeral Home, Putnam.
