I knew Eileen for only a short time. It was obvious that her (very exteended) family ment the world to her. You are all in my thoughts during this difficult time.

Joan Blade Johnson posted a condolence
I met Mrs. DiCola when she arrived at Pierce Baptist Home (I am the Dietitian at Pierce). During our initial meeting we realized that we were both born in Warwick, RI. As our conversations progressed we found out that back when whe was Miss McCabe, Eileen was my Dad's student teacher at Baker Street (Elementary) school) School in the Natick section of Warwick. My Dad still lives on Blade Street in Natick and had very nice memories of Eileen and her family (he said she was a lovely woman). He also remembered Hector Chauvin who for awhile also resided on Blade Street. Additionally, it turns out that my Grandfather Blade was friends with Eileen's father, Jack McCabe. When we spoke about it being a "small world", Eileen said she felt that certain people were being drawn to her at that tme in her life and I was happy to be counted as one of those people!

I have many warm memories of Eileen, dating back to the mid-1970's when we worked together in West Hartford. She was full of spirit and shared her passions generously. I'll remember our long phone calls of the recent past--as recently as December, when we caught up on all the good things happening with everyone in her family. My sympathies to all of you. You certainly can be consoled by all the warm memories you have. Peace and love, Linda Gabianelli

Mrs. Chauvin was my children'slibrarian at Bishop's Corner for many years. I grew up with her and was very into reading. She was a wonderful role model for me and she was extremely sweet and caring to me. I went on to get my Masters in Library and Information Science and am now a full-time librarian at the Prosser Library in Bloomfield, Ct. I will always remember Mrs. Chauvin for the wonderful way that she treated me and introduced me to the joys of reading. Mara Whitman

I remember enjoying listening to Eilieen. a native Rhode Islander, like her husband, my uncle George, and his family, including me, talk about her early days teaching in Rhode Island before WWII . She was a good ranconteur, pleasant, finding humor in the smallest things, and never self-centered, those around were as much a part of her storytelling as she was. She was as good a listener as she was a conversationalist and I cannot say that about me.
