I'll never forget sailing an Etchells from Newport to Padenarum for the Buzzard's Bay Regatta years ago..Just Bernie and me...on a screaming broad reach, snapped a spinnaker sheet, laughing like hell with a 6pk of Ballentine Ale, a bag of pretzels laughing like hell riding over the rollers! The wind, the smells, the energy...life at its best and Bernie had both arms around it! Bernie made me feel welcome, was a friend and I will miss him.

This expression of sympathy comes from the hearts of many of Bernie's co-workers in the Table Games Department. Bernie was a pleasure to work with and we always appreciated his great sense of humor. All of us were shocked at the news of his passing. Bernie will truly be missed. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.

Janice and Patenaude Family, Ginny and I send our sincere and heartfelt sympathy to all. I have many fond memories of growing up in Pomfret and spending times with Bernie, from driving his folk's Jeep through the field and brook ,to playing sports in grammer and high school, and to bumbing early morning rides to PHS when my car for one reason or another couldn't make it. We're expressing out sympathy to show our thoughts are with you now and hope that how we feel will somehow comfort you.

Bernie and I first met during dealer school at Mohegan Sun. Though we were on different shifts for most of his time there, I will always remember how friendly and happy he seemed in his work. Passing Bernie in the hallway, he would always have time to stop and say hello.

I worked with Bernie at Mohegan Sun. One of the bright parts of my day at the casino would be when I would sit down and talk with Bernie in the break room. He would always ask me about my exploits outside of work and how my family and I were doing. What set him apart from many others was that you could just tell he was sincere in his concern. Everytime I saw him, he had a smile on his face. From our many conversations over the years I can honestly say that Bernie was definately one of the good guys and I will sorely miss him. My thoughts and prayers are with his family in this time of loss.

I met Bernie 10 years ago when Mohegan Sun opened its doors. We worked in the Cage department together until he transferred to Table Games. I still saw Bernie all the time and we remained friends. He always had a smile on his face and would make me laugh everytime I bumped into him. Sometimes it was a literal bumping into because we were always in a hurry. I will truly miss this kind man and the laughs. My prayers are with his family at this time of sorrow.
