Obituary of Bernard L. Patenaude
Bernard L. Patenaude, Jr., age 67, of East Greenwich, RI., died unexpectedly Saturday March 24, 2007 at the Kent County Hospital in Warwick. He was the beloved husband of Janice (Normandin) Patenaude, they were married September 10, 1960. Born November 13, 1939 in Webster, MA, son of the late Bernard and Edna (Mitchell) Patenaude, Sr.
He was an International Sales Manager, working for Martin Copeland Company of East Providence, he also worked for American Optical in New York City in the same capacity and recently as a Dealer and Floor Supervisor at the Mohegan Sun Casino. He was a 1958 graduate of Putnam High School in Putnam, a 1963 graduate of Nichols College in Dudley, MA receiving his BS degree, and was a 1963 Graduate of the Thunderbird Graduate School of International Management, in Phoenix, AZ. He served six years in the US Army Reserves. Bernard has made his home in East Greenwich for the last 31 years, an avid Sailor and enjoyed sailboat racing, he was known for racing with International Etchells Fleet 8 Narragansett Bay.
He leaves in addition to his wife Janice, his children: Bernard L. Patenaude, III of Cranston, RI; Lyssa Patenaude of New York, NY; Todd Patenaude of East Greenwich; his siblings: Nancy Kuckly and her husband Martin of Hastings-on-Hudson, NY; Adrienne Curtis and her husband James of Brockton, MA; David Patenaude and his wife Mary of Pomfret, CT; grandchildren Bernard IV; Noelle; Mitchell; Abigail; William; several nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be April 7th (Saturday) at 12:00 PM at Pomfret South Cemetery, Route 44, Pomfret, CT.
