Sending heartfelt condolences to the entire Pempek family. Louise touched so many lives and left an indelible mark on children and educators during her lifetime. She and Joe were extraordinary among the ordinary. May they rest in peace.

When I arrived at Putnam High School my first year as a science teacher, there was Dr. Pempeck. She became my unofficial mentor and I realized she was a master teacher. I came to realize that a woman could have a profession, marry, have children and love it all. She inspired me to go on and get my doctorate at UConn and to this day I teach using skills she passed on to me with great results. She was one in a million! For all of us that loved you, you are still here.

To the whole Pempek family,
I'm so sorry for your loss. Louise was a wonderful woman and I enjoyed getting to know her a little while Kristen and Rebecca were on my soccer team.

To Scott , family and friends,
The world is a little less vibrant with the loss of your Mom. There is a quote from John Steinbeck that I think speaks to the difference made by your Mom- " I have come to believe that a great teacher is a great artist and that there are as few as there are any other great artists. Teaching might even be the greatest of the arts since the medium is the human mind and spirit."
My condolences during this time of loss.

So sorry to hear of Dr. Pempek's passing. She was the single best teacher I had throughout all my years of schooling. I clearly remember the time she met with me after class one day at PHS and told me she thought I was making a mistake going to UCONN for engineering. She thought I would have way more fun going to acting school at NYU! And guess who tutored me through my Engineering classes at UCONN? Dr. Pempek, of course. She was always such a bright light in my life, and I was so happy to become Facebook friends with her over the last 10 years and continue to see her smiling face and happy disposition. This world has lost a very special person, and I truly look forward to seeing Louise again on the other side. My sincere condolences to her entire family (I hope you are doing well Scott!).
With all my love,
Craig Perkins

Mrs Pempek was so sweet, I'll always remember Thanksgiving with her, loved listening to her stories. I've only known her for a few years, I felt like I knew her longer. She will be dearly missed
