Ken and I served together in the 14th Armored Cavalry in Fulda Gap. He was the epitome of a dashing young lieutenant, proudest when he was leading the company armored column through the villages of Germany in his Jeep with the yellow guidon flying.
A very fine officer.
Colonel David Fontanella, USA Ret.

The Benwitz family and Olson family celebrated many Super Bowls and holidays together. Ken was a strong role model in my life. I enjoyed seeing he and my dad catch up a few years ago. Ken influenced many and will be missed.

I first met Ken in 1959 at Armored Officers School at Ft Knox, KY. Then we both were assigned to the 14th Armored Cav in Fulda, Germany. We remained friends after our service obligation and had great times hunting and fishing.
I loved and admired Ken, his outlook on life, his unique sense of humor and his common decency. I will miss him.

Ken and I worked together in Rochester, New York from 1972 to 1983. Our friendship extended outside work. We shared so many activities together from little league baseball, fishing, softball, gardening, Jeeps, and the list goes on. We kept in touch after we retired, he to CT and me to SC. He will be missed, but not forgotten, a very special person and friend. Sympathy to the entire family.
