Paul was my first Program Director at WMAS, guiding me through my early days on air as my PD and co-host. I'll always remember Paul for his smile, laugh, and love for radio. One memory that randomly pops into my head from time to time is the debate we got into over men's vs women's razors and my challenge to him to test them out against each other. Of course he did - by shaving his legs on the air! Anything for the show... My thoughts go out to his family and friends, and I hope you'll be able to smile and laugh again soon when you think of all the great moments you shared.

As people leave their memories of Paul, the one theme that will become clear was his laugh. It was unique, loud, and unmistakable.
We were once at a Citadel radio leadership conference in Miami when Lee Ann Womack took the stage to perform. Cue the Paul Cannon "Boom Boom" laugh. Lee Ann stopped her performance mid song and called out to our table asking to know "what was so damn funny" That was Paul. R.I.P

Paul Boom Boom Cannon was such a wonderful person...we lost one of the greats in broadcasting. We will all miss his inimitable hearty laugh, his kindness, warm sense of humor, creative talent and welcoming, encouraging support of new employees. He was an all around mensch. We will truly miss him
