It was such a pleasure to know this lovely neighbor here at Cornfield Point. She was always upbeat and full of good humor, and I will always smile when I think of her. I will try to emulate the grace and wisdom she exuded as she traveled on in life's journey. Now she has reached the destination and will rest in peace. Truly a life well lived.

Myra was a dear, dear friend for 15 years. We met at a grief support group after she lost her husband Roy and I lost my closest friend. We bonded almost immediately and we laughed and cried together many, many times. She was known for her quick wit and her (lovingly) sharp tongue. She teased me relentlessly but was always there for me. I was blessed to have known her and I will be forever grateful that she was my friend. My sincere condolences to her beloved family.

Since we were both married to ministers in the town of Pomfret, I knew Myra for many years. But it wasn`t until we both lost our husbands within 3 months of each other in 2007 that I got to know her well. Being with her and sharing good conversations about anything and everything were sources of many good times for me, as well as sources of comfort when she knew that was needed. Her sense of humor, and her recognition of life`s ridiculous aspects, including her ability to laugh at herself, meant that there was much laughter when we were together. And I will never forget our cheerful lunches at Sweet Evalina`s when we always ordered dessert first to make sure that we got our favorite kind of pie. Myra`s friendship meant a great deal to me. She was one of a kind, and I will always cherish my memories of her!
