It was 1979-80 and I was only 12 years old, Mr. Elliott as I referred to him, was managing my activities as a young paper boy within the Wilkinson, Prospect and Franklin Street area of Putnam. I did not know it at the time but this man was teaching me the importance of business scheduling, money and time management. I have only the fondest memories and respect for Mr. Elliott in taking the time to guide and mentor me with my first public job. I often talk fondly to my friends of my time delivering the Norwich Bulletin door to door. I went from reading about the world and its politics on the front newspaper pages every day for four years to becoming a Marine, traveling the world and now living abroad. Mr. Elliott was a part in the starting of this journey. There are many like me that will always have a special memory in their hearts for Mr. Elliott.
