Obituary of Carol A. Courcy

Carol A. Courcy, 44, of Maple Street, Danielson, died unexpectedly at her home Sunday morning, May 25, 2008. Beloved wife of Stephen R. Courcy. Born October 25, 1963 in Hartford, daughter of Omar Hawkins of East Hartford and Linda (Bennett) Menard of Putnam. Carol was a Senior Customer Service Representative for Rogers Corporation where she had been employed for the last four years. Carol was dedicated and excelled in her work, she was recently promoted to the position of Senior Customer Service Representative. She was very devoted to her family, putting others before her needs. She enjoyed horseback riding, had a great love for animals, especially dogs and enjoyed cooking. Carol had a unique bond with her granddaughter. She leaves her husband Stephen of 27 years, two daughters: Bonnie (Courcy) Bates of Danielson, Erin Courcy of Danielson, her siblings: Walter Hawkins of Nashville, TN; George Corriveau of Brooklyn; Cassie Menard of Brooklyn; Sara Liepke of Norwich; a granddaughter, Madison Bates and her mother-in-law Shirley Lee of Colorado Springs, CO; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a sister Suezenne Hayes. The Funeral Service will be Thursday at 4:00 PM at North Woodstock Congregational Church, 1227 Route 169, Woodstock, CT. Calling hours will be Wednesday from 5:00 to 8:00 PM at the Smith & Walker Funeral Home, 148 Grove Street, Putnam.
