Pat and I send our sympathy to Glenn, Ingrid and family. I clearly remember Ethel and family's arrival to Woodstock in 1957. Ethel and her entire family became very good neighbors and dear friends. The first thought that comes to my mind was her open invitation for me to attend vacation bible school at the Evangelical Covenant Church with her family. She always showed her interest and concern for me.

Mrs Anderson was my second grade teacher at Pomfret Community School. She was by far my favorite teacher throughout my schooling, even to this very day. She was a very loving, kind, and patient teacher who made each student feel special and important. She instilled the love of learning along with providing a special classroom atmosphere in which to do so. I remember her singing to us, especially around the holidays. When I think back to my early childhood, she is one of the special people I remember with love.

My thoughts are with you. Your mother, Ethel, was a vibrant woman who was always cheerful and ready to help. She was very helpful when I first came to Woodstock.

Ethel will be missed by my family very much. Living next door to her was a blessing for myself, my wife Karen and our three children. Ethel had the biggest heart and the kindess personality. She was a very giving person, always coming up with something for each one on my children during our visits. I, along with my family will miss her very much. God Bless.

I loved Ethel's faith. She and I had some of the most God-centered prayers together when I had the priviledge of caring for her in the hospital last month. She longed for heaven & was brave in the face of both sets of cancer and the recurrence. She is where she longed to be, and I'm sure is leaping with joy in the presence of her precious Lord. She had a wonderful personality & lived well! I will miss her.

My condolences to the family on Mrs. Anderson's passing.
She was my 2nd grade teacher and 43 years later, I still remember more about that class than any other: the fun and special projects and holidays, the joy of learning in her classroom. Living in this area, I had the opportunity to see her many times over the years. She always remembered my name and asked how the rest of my family was doing. She was such a special lady, and I will never forget her.

Ethel Anderson was my 2nd Grade teacher at Pomfret Community School in her earliest years as a teacher there. I remember when she would bring in her accordian and play songs for us to sing. I last had the pleasure of seeing her when she and my mother, Frances Sharpe, were hospital roommates a few years ago at Day Kimball Hospital. They had such fun reminiscing about families they both knew. Prior to that I visited with her when she attended the 50th anniversary of Pomfret Community School. My sincere condolences to the Anderson family at this time of great loss for you. Your mother and grandmother was a wonderful woman to be proud of.
