Obituary of Miriam A. Lamondy

Miriam A. Lamondy, 81, of Walnut Street, Putnam, died Monday surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of the late Edward E. Lamondy, they were married in 1953, he died in 1979. She was born March 27, 1927 in Dayville, daughter of Jacob and Nellie (Joray) Locker. She was a graduate of Putnam High School Class of 1945. She worked as a Laboratory Technician for over twenty years, at Day Kimball Hospital and the Danielson Clinic. Her last employment was with the Adult Education and Literacy Volunteers in Putnam and Danielson. She was a member of the Putnam Baptist Church, serving on many Boards and committees; she served on the Board of Trustees of Little River Acres, a member of the Putnam Grange # 97 and was a member of the executive committee, a member of the AARP and the Putnam Seniors Citizens. Miriam enjoyed reading, traveling and spending time with her family. She leaves her family, a son: Paul E. Lamondy of Putnam; a daughter: Anne M. Lamondy and her husband William Neilson of Putnam; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her siblings: John Locker; Edward Locker; Germaine Pond; Julia Bernier; Elma Denton; Gerald Locker. Funeral service will be Thursday at 11:00 AM at the Smith & Walker Funeral Home, 148 Grove Street, Putnam. Calling hours will be Wednesday from 6:00 to 9:00 PM at the funeral home. Burial in High Street Cemetery, Dayville. Donations may be made in her memory to the Putnam Baptist Church, 170 Church Street, Putnam, CT 06260 or the American Cancer Society, 106 Route 32, Franklin, CT 06254.
