Obituary of Kris A. Carlson

Kris Alan Carlson, 48, of Pomfret, formerly of New Jersey, died Thursday April 23, 2009 at the Day Kimball Hospital in Putnam, after being stricken Lou Gehrig's Disease (ALS) in May of 2007. Beloved husband friend and soul mate of Tammy Rosenlund Johnson Carlson, they were married on June 15th. He was born December 6, 1960 in Red Bank, NJ, son of David and Theresa (Narcissi) Carlson of Chicago, IL. Kris was raised in Holmdel, NJ, and had made his home in Pomfret for the last 12 years with his wife and children. He was known as Coach Kris, KC, Bear and Bud. He was employed by Electrodes, Inc. of Milford, CT and Worcester, MA, starting a successful branch for them in California, New Jersey, CT and MA. Kris loved to play basketball, surf, ski, a fan of Bruce Springstein and Greatful Dead bands. He was a coach for more than seven years with the WPTP Pop Warner Football League and volunteered for numerous activities in the community. He was the proud father of father of Jay Johnson, Erika Johnson, Jack Carlson, Mitchell Carlson and Keith Carlson. He also leaves two sisters Vanessa Fitzpatrick and her husband Kenneth; Lori Carlson; three nephews and two nieces. A memorial service will be 5:30 PM, Monday, May 4, 2009 at the Evangelical Covenant Church in Woodstock, 24 Child Hill Road, Woodstock.
